Andrew Purvis

Survey Team Lead | Senior Surveyor

Work hard, play hard has been the mantra Andrew has lived by, even from when he was young.

He was born in County Durham, England and his family emigrated to New Zealand when he was 10 years old. His parents were his biggest influence growing up, always on the sidelines whether it be study, sport or just life in general – encouraging Andrew to do his best, whatever he took on.

From a young age Andrew wanted to live life to the fullest and help others along the way.

He didn’t have a plan when he left secondary school but followed in his brothers’ footsteps of becoming a survey assistant. It was here his “work hard, play hard” attitude became entrenched and with some hard graft and dedication he worked his way up the ranks.

Andrew started mid 2023 as Envelope’s Survey Team Lead in their funky Auckland HQ. He is enjoying the challenge of building a crew and adding to the existing civil and structural engineering teams. The banter among workmates and the closeknit structure within the company is a huge plus.

Andrew's technical survey abilities truly shine through with his innovative approach with data collection and analysis. With a keen eye for detail, he seamlessly integrates cutting-edge data capture and 3D scanning techniques, transforming field survey data into a meticulously crafted deliverable for clients.

He lived in Japan for a year and hopes to enjoy future visits there with his family. The food, the people, the culture and history make it a fascinating destination.

Football is a passion for Andrew and while his playing days have been halted by injuries, he hopes to take up coaching. And will always be a starter for watching a match.

In fact, history might repeat itself as if his young daughter wants to play at some stage, he will be the proudest sideline supporter around.
