It is not often that working at a hardware and DIY store gifts you both a love of a work/life balance philosophy –
But that is how it happened for Chantelle Roberts. And now as Envelope’s People Advisor she is living the philosophy of supporting people to feel valued and motivated, and loving it.
Chantelle is Wellington born and bred. She got her degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations in 2017, but it was her part-time job at Bunnings which motivated her to find out more about working with a company with culture at its heart.
She also met her husband, Ben, at Bunnings. Chantelle loves music so it is little wonder she fell for Ben, who used to play in bands (including the amazingly named Bush Lawyer, Leopard Print Aunt, and Yor Cronies).
Outside of work, she says she is a “home body,” whether that be gaming, or planning house renovations. Chantelle longs to get back to Japan, a place where she found the culture, scenery, and people amazing,
